Best Of Meal Prep was created with one goal in mind — to help you get the most out of your meal prep journey. Whether it’s your very first time meal prepping, or your hundredth time planning your weekly menu, our goal is to provide you with the perfect guide, review, or resource to help make that journey easier.

If you’re interested in learning more about how we research and recommend products and services, here’s a rundown of the process.
1. We Research
Whether you’re looking for a new set of meal prep containers, a quick and easy meal prep recipe book, or a few helpful tools for your kitchen, research is paramount. It’s the first and most important step in the purchasing process, and it helps ensure that you’re able to find the products and services that will best serve you.
Our process for reviews begins with two questions: 1) What needs do people who meal prep have? 2) What products are available to fulfill these needs? Luckily, we can answer those two questions, for ourselves and others, by researching various products and services on the market.
As both the expert and the consumer, we’re looking for products and services that can make an overall improvement in the meal prep process — and these products should cover a multitude of needs. For example, are there affordable items for people who are meal prepping on a budget? Are there different materials for people to choose from? All of these questions, and more, guide the types of products we consider for review.
2. We Purchase
Once we’ve narrowed down a selection of the products we want to review, we purchase those items for in-home testing. By purchasing the items to test directly, it gives us the chance to form honest opinions and provide thoughtful reviews without relying purely on online reviews and word-of-mouth.
Unfortunately, from time to time, there may be some items that are impossible to test — like meal prep services in different cities, for example. We will always be open and honest if a product has not been personally tested, and will do our due diligence in fully researching these products and services before recommending them.
3. We Test
When it comes to testing products like meal prep containers, cutting boards, gadgets, and other kitchen equipment, the kitchen is where we’re able to put those products to use in real-world scenarios. For example, how well do these plastic containers heat up frozen meals in the microwave? And how practical is this expensive smoothie maker for most meal prep beginners?
Our goal during the testing process is to review not only how well these products and services work, but to gather honest feedback that we can share with readers based on first-hand experience with the products.
